I have a DFI LanParty UT nf4 Ultra and an Athlon 64 3200+. Right now I'm mainly doing photo and video editing. What CPU should I get? The 4800+ is sort of expensive on ebay right now. Should I go for the 4600+, 4400+, 4200+ or some Opteron chip? I know the 4600-4200 are between 2.2 and 2.4 Ghz with either 512k or 1mb (x2) of L2 cache. They should be all close, but what should I look for?

In an attempt to keep things simple (which is how I prefer everything!), why not just get a mobo that will support up to a 4800+? Like my mobo (asus) will support celeron 533 fsb all the way up to a P4 3.4 800 mhz fsb, which is one reason why I bought it so that I could upgrade in the future (only running a celeron 2.93 now dry.gif ). I should think that this would be the easiest option, so that you can get what you can afford now, save up, then get what you want later on.

I'm trying to spend $200 or under. The 4800+ CAN be had for a little over that, I just have to be able to snipe it to get it for a resonable price. Plus it will be used. linkage
