Bleeping Computer is happy to announce the availability of a custom made
bumper sticker (BS) to show off the BC.

One BS is free to any member sending a #10 self addressed and stamped envelope (SASE) to the address noted below.
We're sorry, but only one BS is available per member at this time.

(A #10 envelope is 4 inches deep by 9 1/2 inches wide.
Please remember the USPS First Class postal increase to $.41 on 14 May.)

These BS are a vinyl product (no paper) 3 3/4" deep and 7 1/2" wide.
They are easily removable, repositionable, and leave no adhesive residues.

Send your SASE to:

BC Bumper Sticker
Bleeping Computer LLC
PO BOX 20293
New York, NY 10021-0064

Quantities are limited.

A note to members looking at the BS above.

Please don't try to peal that BS off of your screen.
You'll just mess up/damage your screen!

Perhaps it would be an idea to also set 1 distribution point in Europe, since a large amount of the membership originates from there. I would be happy to function as a distribution point.
Grinler
Would that really help that much with distribution? I honestly do not know much about sending from one country to another country when overseas. Is it any different than sending from the US to that country?
fozzie
It is much more a cost - and time thing than anything else. I can send an enveloppe to any country in Europe for
around EUR. 0.72 ( USD.091) per envelope. I have no clou what it costs to send it direct from US to Europe. I imagine that intercontinental postal fees would be a lot higher. Certainly if you would send let say 100 pieces in 1 go depending on interest from the European members.
rowal5555
I can see Fozzie's point here.
I would love to have one but I don't know how the USPS would view an envelope with a local stamp?? (How about I VISA a donation, and you send me a sticker? Win/Win) smile.gif
Great idea though. Congrats to the designer.
Animal
Here is a link to the USPS postage calculator. http://postcalc.usps.gov/
For destination use the pulldown for your particular country to find out what the US postal rate is. As for purchasing a USPS stamp to put on the return envelope? I don't have a clue.
rowal5555
Thanks for that Animal.
Checked up with local NZ Post. Local stamps can not be used, but I can send a $NZ3 reply coupon which can be used to purchase a stamp in the currency required. FWIW
Grinler
I am going to try and look into it.
Pandy
I sent my SASE out yesterday.

Personally, I would like to see a slogan that sort of throws it in the face of people that develop spyware/adware....I don't know how many of them are driving around, but I would love it to be along the lines of destroying everything they create.

Good job on getting one at all though. smile.gif

can we get the bumper stickers in the u.k?
also was thinking of asking my friend (who prints t-shirts) to make me a b.c t-shirt and i will take a picture and post it in b.c family album and maybe send a couple of to grinler to give out to admin and mods or whoever he sees fit.

On a funny note. I can't help laugh over all the talk about the "BS."

On a brighter note, though, it seems like a good idea! Now if only there was a way people with iPhone's or like devices could point at the bumper sticker and then instantly be able to go to our website!

Scarlett
That would be cool!

Please save one for me. I wont be able to send off SASE till next week. I am going out of town first thing in the morning.
cowsgonemadd3
Sending to china wont be that long. I bought something from china on ebay, the guy sent it first class and it only took 5 days to get it I think. I have had things take longer from CA here in the USA.

I don't have a problem as long as they are not sold smile.gif

Heck if the t-shirts are nice, I may buy some from your friend to give out here at BC.
JohnWho
I know a Peliguin that would love to be on those T-shirts.

Can you tell us more about this? What is an International Reply Coupon?

Now, where are those t-shirts?

And hats?

Coffee mugs?

Boxers or briefs?

From Wikipedia:

QUOTE
An international reply coupon (IRC) is a coupon that can be exchanged for one or more postage stamps representing the minimum postage for an unregistered priority airmail letter sent to another Universal Postal Union (UPU) member country. IRCs are accepted by all UPU member countries.

UPU member postal services are obliged to exchange an IRC for postage, but are not obliged to sell them.

The purpose of the IRC is to be able to send someone in another country a letter, along with the cost of postage for them to reply. If the addressee is within the same country, there is no need for an IRC because a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) will suffice; but if the addressee is in another country an IRC removes the necessity of acquiring foreign postage or sending appropriate currency.

Grinler
Thanks for the info.
TMacK
Interesting rowal5555, had never heard of an International Reply Coupon before.
Do you purchase this at the Bank or at the Post Office?

Presumed a U.S. Money order would work for the cost of postage. smile.gif

Got my BS within a week of mailing for it. Now still deciding where to put it.

I'd tell you to take it and

stick it on your bumper,

but someone might accuse me

of being impolite in this thread.

Actually was waiting to get my new car. But thinking I may want to put it on my offices window..I think more people will see it there.
Asked the bride if I ...err need 2 ... forget it
rowal5555
As mentioned in post#8, I rang the local Post Office and found out about the International Reply Coupon. Budapest has explained it very well. It was a straight forward transaction at the Post Office when I did it yesterday.

Simply put, it is an internationally agreed method of prepaying for postage from a different country. The only limitation is that the price is preset at $3 each locally, which would equate to about $US2 each. For larger items you may have to buy several.

Cheers
BlackSpyder
Will send mine off as soon as I find my last stamp. (It'll go on my laptop case, I dont put Bumper stickers on my vehicles)
Grinler
Tmack, yours is going out tomorrow. I will try and send out any others that may be in the PO box tomorrow when I check it smile.gif
TMacK
Great news!
Thanx for the update Grinler thumbup2.gif

Now just where shall I put my BC BS........
Pandy
I think I am going to have to buy a car soon, so when I do I SO am putting my BC BS where it was intended to go.
lol
TMacK
To be honest, I'm not one for putting bumper stickers on my vehicles either, but after thinking about it, just might make an exception in this case.

When I went to get the money order to send off to for the BS, even the bank teller was quite interested in what Bleeping Computer was all about!
Living in a fairly small town, we have one computer tech store (to which I have never graced the entrance), so IMO there is obviously a need to get the word out about Bleeping Computer. thumbup2.gif

Tmack, yours went out today.

Just to assuage those that might be reticent to put the BC BS on a vehicle due to possible finish damage:

I've had some extensive experience with this product in USA Election Years.
I have removed them from vehicles and put them on others - actually several times.

BTW - mild auto finish cleaning products easily remove that little surrounding square of dirt that might develop at the edges when one washes a vehicle.
(As will WD-40 or plain PAM cooking spray.)

One bumper sticker arrived safely today. Thank you very much.
KoanYorel
YEAH!

BC BS is a good thing!
TMacK
Gosh, with all that was going on here at BC, I forgot to post at this thread when I got my BC BS! whistling.gif

Grinler?

My GrandDaughter is sending you a USPS note about the BC BS.
I have no control over the foul-mouthed 9 year old.

Beware!

//edit: I do plead guilty to giving her a stamp for the letter. You may not laugh.
Grinler
Heheh...ok will be careful when opening it smile.gif
