Hi all, am new to all this but wld like to ask someone out there the following:
I hv a brand new desktop computer, my laptop died and all old programs etc
hv been trfrd, but I am trying to put bigpond onto my computer and install
the wireless modem, which is currently working on a 2nd computer in the house!
I hv IP address, but I can't get past modem installation cd which says to attach
yellow lead! AS EXPLAINED this is a wireless modem...how do I get past this,
I don't want to attach a lead...the modem is in another room!! appreciate
any advice. thks! note also the modem is a NETGEAR and is not listed on the
BIGPOND CD installation, when I put IP address it says cannot locate site!
FRUSTRATED!

Aaahh wonderful Telstra and their "all in one" bundle bungles. Pink i'll need a bit more info here but i'm sure you can configure a connection without using the supplied CD. The CD is mainly for modem set-up and as you have said your modem is not on BigPond supported list so you need to configure your modem manually.
Are you trying to run wireless on your new PC or cable connection ?
Does your modem have a "browser interface" you can access through IE ?
What operating system are you using ?
Have you configured windows networking between the two PC's yet ?
Do you have a firewall other than the windows one ?

Am I correct in assuming you want more than one computer hooked up to the internet? You will need a router
