Just finished getting the Ubuntu (disk only) configured the way
I want it and would like to fool around with it a bit more without
installing it to my Hard drive right now.

So, my question is, what are the consequences of leaving it running
tonight..I can turn off the monitor, but I'd like the CD to stay in place.
BlackSpyder
None. You can leave it running with the CD in and it will not negatively affect your computer. I ran Ubuntu that way for a few days.

Thanks Blackspyder...........just what I wanted
to hear.

Another question along the same lines as above.
I have Mepis running on the hard drive in another
computer....Can I boot up from a CD, like Ubuntu
on that same computer....Doesn't seem to want to
install Puppy. It just by-passes the CD and goes right
to Mepis. I have the BIOS set for CD Rom 1st boot.
