I want to take advantage of the expanded Staples program for PC disposal. My concern if for personal data left on the HD. I plan to reformat the HD. Is this enough to protect any data that may be on the PC ?

If no, please provide me suggestions.

Thanks

If you want to keep the drive.. Do a Low level format or complete format this will write zero's to the drive.. If your getting rid of it and you wan't to be sure.. Drill 4 holes through the HDD.. Though why you would wan't to destroy a good hard drive. you can always use it in something else..

A simple reformat does not necessarily rid the HD of your files. They could still be recovered...they must be OVERWRITTEN.

There are however cleaning options out there.
Check out many of the choices out there...
