Where is a good place to buy laptops online? I am thinking of spending around £600 on one, if I do get one. I have had a look around but not coming up with much, ebuyer have some good ones, but I want a few more sites for comparison. It will be mainly used for internet, work and watching dvds, although it would be nice to be able to play some games on it if possible, not necessarily new ones, I have my desktop for that.

Thanks.

Josh

P.s. I live in the UK btw.

Do you have a Sams club or a Walmart over there? If so, they're usually a good place to pick up a decent laptop for a decent price.

If this doesn't help, sorry, but I'm unfamiliar with any stores in the UK! Although, there's a Walmart everywhere...they say there's one on Mars! blink.gif Probably next to the McDonalds! hysterical.gif

If you don't mind ordering from the net the two most popular, and perhaps cheapest, places would be NewEgg and TigerDirect.

Thanks WlkingMan, I will check those sites out.

Anyone ever bought a refurbished laptop?

I know that most people dislike the idea. Some people claim to have numerous problems with refurbished systems, but I bought one once-upon-a-time and had no problems. If I were you I would still take a look at their warranty policy anyways, if they have one, just in case.

Hello,

Have you tried these

http://www.aria.co.uk/

They are both quite good.
Hope this helps

If you can, find out why it's "refurbished". Sometimes, refurbished means that it was returned because the buyer wanted something better or cheaper or something. Other times it's because a part was faulty (like a power supply) and the computer was returned and replaced with a new laptop, so the company put a new (working) power supply in it and will sell it as "refurbished".

I've bought a couple of printers and an all-in-one refurbished as well as an LCD screen. I have been very happy with all of them.

I did see some "open box deals" where laptops were discounted quite a bit because someone returned them. Just as you said, they wanted a better model.
