Just picked up a Compaq Presario with Vista Home Basic.
When I try to delete Nortons, a permission window pops up asking if I want to proceed to uninstall MS Windows. Of course I don't, just Nortons, but it isn't mentioned. Not game to proceed.
What do I do from here??

If you are trying to uninstall norton, using the control panel applet, this is the windows vista DEP (data execution Prevention), you should just click yes to verify that you want the program to run. Then the norton uninstaller should start.

BTW, Avast Home Free av is vista compatible.
