I want to reinstall Windows Xp soon, as I got a virus and after cleaning the computer doesn't work as smooth as before. I gives some strange erros and sometimes it justs hangs up... I want to backup Outlook Express emails and settings before reinstall, and restore afterwards. Any help?

Under "file", you'll see a choice "export"

and you can choose either your address book or your messages.

Save the files it creates to a CD or flash drive or external HD, etc.



Then, when you re-install Outlook Express, you'll be able to do the reverse:

under "file", you'll see a choice "import".


That's one way.

or if u are installing the same version of windows (i.e., XP) u could just goto the outlook express storage folder location and copy the dbx files to be found there, and while importing from ur fresh installation , browse the folder containing the dbx files...

it's also very easy to do using the file and settings transfer wizard
