AMD goes quad-core with Phenom. So, if you can wait until then, you'll have the fastest chip - supposedly.
But, wait, ... if you can wait until 08, Intel's even faster ones will be out.
Why get that, though, when AMDs even faster will not be far behind?
Hmmm... I'm detecting a pattern here.
Also, the latest games, today, will be yesterday's games by then.
I'm thinkin' if you go with a Intel Extreme CPU today, at least you'll be able to play these games over the next few years, while waiting for even faster CPUs to come out.
Either that, or join the "Paralysis of Analysis Club", and don't get anything.
