Evening,

I currently have a pc running XP which I built myself. PC is fairly new and have had no problems with it.
I have run Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor which has reported no issues. I am trying to install Home Premium and get the following problems:

1. if I try and boot from disk for a clean install, I get to a blank green vista screen but nothing happens.

2. if I try and install from windows xp it runs through the whole installation process but then says it can not be installed right at the end and restarts with xp telling me to use Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor. I have tried this several times with no luck.

Would be really grateful for any help

Sounds like it's most likely a hardware incompatibility that isn't included in the upgrade advisor's database - try this free utility to get your system specs and post 'em here: http://www.gtopala.com/index.html

Thank you. You were right it was a hardware problem.

I took out my X1950 256 Pro graphics card and replaced it with an old graphics card I had laying around and the installation worked perfectly. Once Vista was installed I fitted the X1950 Pro back and it loaded up fine allowing me to download the correct drivers.
