For the past week or so I have been struggling to clean my computer of malware and somewhere along the line Ive done something that causes my computer to lose connection to the internet about 2-4 minutes after startup. The problem is only on my PC all others on the network can connect just fine. If it helps clarify my problem I get "Socket Error 11004" when trying to update my Spybot. I guess I should tell you that its not just spybot thats affected, I can't access my network or connect to the internet.

I have tried using WinSockFix.exe (as recommended by one of the admins on spybot search and destroy forums). It seem to fix my problem for a time but now my computer is again having trouble staying connected. I have also used ATF Cleaner.

If it helps clarify here is the thread I posted on the spybot forums. Lot to read but it has more information than I can remember and list here.

I'm not using a wireless internet. I have a wireless router, but my PC is routed via a cord to that router, only one pc in my house is wireless and its not having trouble.

The Spyware is gone for the most part, I used spybot.
