I wish my wife would get me one of those candy gift baskets...you know the ones that cost way too much but are so fun to get .. Wishful thinking on my part because when I explicity said i wanted it, she laughed at me because it was a waste a money. A boy can dream right?

I am going to give her flowers and take her to a really nice dinner for valentines day.

So go buy one for her instead...maybe she will be nice enough to share??

And as many hours as you put into this site, I'm thinking she may deserve diamonds or something.

Flowers and a nice dinner sound like a great idea and I think my wife will love it. I also got myself something for her - a small diamond in my wedding band to mark a year anniversary (not until April, but we were in Ecuador where our jeweler lives) with a promise to add more for each passing year. The jeweler said I will have to put in smaller ones in the future if I want enough room for many!

get the diamonds, grinler..that way, at least that fork will come in handy with those sweets...and ya know...a pair of stud earrings ain't that much...probly about the same as flowers and a nice dinner out, from what i've heard about restaurant prices in ny. besides, haven't you ever heard that diamonds are a girl's best friend forever? (or something like that...)

and mrs grinler? i was married for 10 years before i saw my FIRST diamond. and yes, it was my wedding ring.

Speaking of diamonds...the Family Guy episode that makes fun of the DeBeers commercial was on last night. Some people may think it's not in good taste, but hey, since we're talking about diamonds, this was the only thing I could think of.

1. I was so ready to say something about how needy and wanting the men are to have 2 pages for this thread while the women had just one. Until I read them both, lol. The women who responded actually posted what they would like. The men who responded (few at that) turned this into a sad state of affairs, lol.

2. My heart goes out to those who are single and/or alone this holiday. The same goes for those of us who are going to receive nothing from a sourpuss or just aren't happy in our situations. A and some and a to all of you so you aren't entirely empty-handed.

BTW - I've never really been a big Valentine nut or anything, 'cept once. Luckily, we still have our memories of high school romances and other loves. Ah! <sigh>
