Hey, I've got a Linksys WRT54G router, and I've got one computer wireless, and the other wired, I'm wondering how I share files, I've got some important documents on one computer, that I need on the other.
One computer has Windows XP, and the other has Windows Me.
Thanks

Which computer has the files you want to share? Is the XP computer Pro or Home?

Not too sure about ME but in XP Pro you should be able to right click on the folder you want to share and set the security there. Make sure that both computers are in the same workgroup first though.

one solution for this if ur sure that the configuration are right(same workgroup, correct TCP/IP configuration):
-Create a New Folder on ur Winndows Me PC
-Right Click on the New Floder and go to properties.(rename itif u want)
-Go to the Sharing tab.
-U will see 2 options:Not Shared
Sahred As:
chose Shared As, put a share name if u want, Make the Access Type Full and leave the passowrds blank.
now on ur XP pc
go to Start-> Run -> \\(Ip address of ur Me computer)
e.g:\\192.168.0.1
wait 2 or 3 sec and the New Folder on ur ME will open on XP. just put all the data u wanna share in that folder and access it this way from XP when u need it.
Now do the same thing for the XP PC.
(create a new folder. set it as shared and on ME pc Run-> \\(XP pc ip address)
Remember that u need to have the correct configuration set for this to work.
