Hi Guys, whistling.gif

I need a little help with a new computer i have recently purchased as i dont know whether to use the vista 32 or 64 bit version to get the best out of my hardware. My computer consists of :

Gigabyte N680SLI-DQ6 motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 BOX CPU LGA 775 2.40GHz
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM 1066 RAM Memory
Silent, Transparent 600W ATX/BTX Power Supply
SAMSUNG 500GB SATA II 16MB HARD DRIVE
BFG GEFORCE 8800 GTX OC2 OVERCLOCKED EDITION 768MB GDDR3.

Ive been told that i should run 64 bit as this will get the most out of my processor etc, If this is so will i have any compatability issues or other issues that you may be able to think of ?. Basically i will just be using this computer to play online games, surf the net and download a few shows here and there. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. thumbup.gif

There is also a 64 bit version of XP Pro available.

I would recommend 64 bit, as over 4 gig of ram can be addressed, 32 bit can go no higher than 4 gig, but normally only can use 3.5 gig

The only problem is not many 64 bit games are available --- yet.

I would recommend the 32-bit version, due to driver and software compatibility.

Sorry sometimes I just cant think forgot driver compatibility. the other issue with 64 bit. Go with 32 bit for now.
