Hello...I thank God for smart folks like you people on this site. I have such trouble with computer things..I do eventually figure things out..but with much help from you type of folks...THANK YOU!

Excuse my ignorance..I am not very computer savy. My old computer busted and I purchased new computer with Vista on it, it came with Word Excel Access 2007

I needed to use Excel and Word..and the new version was bugging me so i removed it and put my old one on, but now I want 2007 back now that I have time to play with it. How do I re-install it? The only disk it came with was the Vista OS disk...??? Am I being ingnorant? HELP?

What brand of computer do you have?

Gateway

Gateway has an application built in to re install applications and drivers. this is listed in the main menu area of vista click on the windows button and use the left hand menu. every driver and application that came pre loaded should be listed.

Thank you! I am still not sure how to do this..but at least I know its possible so I will look around and figure it out. At very least I know I can call gateway and they can walk me step by step through the process..

One other thought: was the office 2007 a 2 month trial or was it the full version? The only gateways that I have seen only had a trial version installed.

Go to the Start Menu and click on All Programs - then scroll through the list looking for "recovery" or "restore". There should be some reference to recovering the applications.

Alternatively, you can use the Recovery option to create a Drivers and Applications CD - then start it up and use it to restore the app.

All of that being said, you're likely to find that you've got a trial version as oldf@rt said. FWIW you can get a copy of the "Home and Student" version for about $150 from most stores (less online).
