I'm trying to learn more about my windows 2000 operating system. One of the things I'd like to do is understand what all the entries in the $winnt$.inf mean. Can someone point me in the direction of reference for this? Cheers, -------- DocB

Hi DocB, winnt performs an installation of or upgrade to Windows XP. If you have hardware that is compatible with Windows XP, you can run winnt at a Windows 3.x or MS-DOS command prompt.

Thanks Monty. I opened up the file in notepad just to read what was there (for some reason that I can't remember now
whistling.gif). There were a number of entries there which I didn't understand. I was just wondering if there was a site where I could learn more about what each of the lines means.

Cheers!
