I have a G3, first series apple, a windows 98 pc and a Dell latitude laptop.
The G3 had a 100 gig drive. I am hoping to scan my entire photo collection to this drive and then use the G3 as a server w/ and open directory to all my friends and relatives.

I am lost as to how to do it. I have a cable modem that has wireless capability and I use the Dell laptop for work so I bring it home and am always hooked up to the wireless connection. I would like to share files on the G3 but am not sure if all these pieces will support that especially the windows 98 pc. (AMD processor)

Is there a kit or a easy tutuorial to get this all to work, or is this idea ridiculously outdated.

Any suggestions from anyone would be truly appreciated.

What version of Apple OS are you running?

You will need to configure Samba on the Mac in order for your PC's to be able to connect to shares on there.

I used to work on the Apple Canada Technical Answerline, but my Mac knowledge is about 4 years out of date. The good thing is the Apple KnowledgeBase has info on this very subject smile.gif
