I recently decided writing programs was a good idea, and set about learning a language. Python seemed like a good beginner language, and I wrote several short programs in IDLE to test it out. All went well, but when I tried accessing the program (that I wrote) from the icon, I was unable to open it. I was asked what program to use to open and I browsed to the Python program, but was not allowed to use this. If anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix it, etc. I would be much appreciative!

Ok, so I figured it out (sort of). When I saved the file, I casually forgot to add the .py extension on it. Nice stupid mistake, but easily fixed. I am still curious as to why I couldn't choose a program to run it though...

No stupid Python, it should add its own extension. thumbup2.gif
