Looks like Microsoft still have the age old problem -

You uninstall a program, and it remains in the program list (programs and features)... Vista Home Premium
The right Click allows for change/uninstall .... Grrr Why not remove this entry... or why not simply test if the program is on the PC and remove it from the list if it aint.

Try to uninstall it again and it says cant unistall, the uninstall file aint there' Good Heavens Vista, of cause the file aint there you just uninstalled it.. mad.gif
Ah maybe you need a reboot ..... Nope, listing still there

We had this same problem with 98 we had it on 98SE again with XP now here it is still in Vista.
I seem to recall that I had around a dozen Java Updates listed on XP. Do we look forward to this on Vista?

Does anyone know how to get rid of a listing of a program that doesn't exist.

Ok I have a OEM from Acer. (but then I guess mosty people have OEM copies)..

Telephoned MS they told me to contact Acer
Contacted Acer they told me to contact MS

This isn't a Vista issue - rather it's an issue of the uninstallers (written by the makers of the program) not running correctly. Likely they're using uninstallers from XP - and Vista won't permit them the access that XP had.
