Full Version: A Warning On Restore Points

Mr Alpha
I thought I should warn anyone else dual-booting with XP. XP doesn't recognize the format of the Vista Restore Points, and so assumes they are corrupt, and promptly deletes them.

Does it delete them once you boot into XP - or do you have to invoke System Restore in XP for it to delete them?
Mr Alpha
At boot. It also deletes the shadow copies of files.

WOW!!! Thanks for the tip!

That's something MS is supposed to address in a future SP. Wether or not they actually do is questionable.
Users of Ultimate and Enterprise versions can use bitlocker to prevent that from happening.
