My PC was perfectly fine last night when i turned it off and sitting on res 1280x1024.
When i booted my resolution was changed to 800x600 all by itself. My first thought was to check the graphics which is

"Intel® G965 Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM)"
Device-Display,
Manufacturer-Intel,
Location-PCI Bus 0, Device 2, Function 0

Device Status:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43).

Click 'Check for Solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and see if there is any solutions available. (Which there wasn't)

I was running Aero at the time.

Code 43 says:

Code 43
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

Recommended resolution

One of the drivers controlling the device notified the operating system that the device failed in some manner. For more information about how to diagnose the problem, see the hardware documentation.

i'll have a look at MS site for some answers if i can while i wait for a reply here...

i disabled the device, then Enabled it, rebooted and the error is gone, i don't know what happened but i would be sure it is a Vista bug in some way.

May not be a "bug in Vista" -

it could easily be a "bug" in the video drivers.

I'd suggest updating your video drivers from the website of the manufacturer of the computer.
