So I build this new banging computer and I have everything put together and plugged in and I started it up to see if it would run. All the fans work but the dvd rom drive doesn't open or anything. The next day when i was trying to work on it again i disconected everything to see if I could fix the problem. I only have one ide connector on my mobo and i have it plugged into my hard drive and my dvd rom. So i plugg everything back in nothing works fans or otherwise. Only the power light on the front of the case is on. My powersupply is modular so i don't know if i'm plugging in the right type of power to my parts or what. Somebody please help.

Check the motherboard manual for power connectors, some new motherboards require a second four-pin connection from the power supply in addition to the big one.
