Full Version: Cd Rom Drive Does Not Read Disks!
BleepingComputer.com > Hardware > Internal Hardware

My "D" CD/DVD drive does not appear in the My Computer screen; however, it does appear in device manager. When I click the "plus" sign to drop down the menu in the Device Manager under DVD/CD ROM Drives, it shows my disk drive with a big yellow exclamation point.

Furthermore, when I right click and click properties it says in the Device Status, Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device. (yes I have hit troubleshoot)

Please help me with my problem.

Try uninstalling it, turn your computer on/off, reinstall it and see if it corrects itself, if not your dive may be bad.
