Alright well I bought an AMD Athlon 4000 to upgrade my system from its 3700. Removed my old cpu, put the new on in, flashed cmos and no boot. Put the 3700 back in and it boots... So I send the 4000 back thinking its bad since it came with a few bent pins anyways. Get the new one yesterday, same deal, no boot. Am I missing something very obvious? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

It would be helpful to know what systemboard you are using.

My bad, its a DFI LANPARTY-UT Ultra-D. I've already updated the bios also.

I've merged the two threads, and cut away the other posts.

Continue on.

Does it fit alright? I believe that processor has two types for two different sockets.

Yes it fits fine smile.gif Its a 939 socket, i'm pretty sure thats the only socket the AMD Athlon 4000 chip was made for since the 754 socket cut out at the AMD 3700. Thanks for the reply thumbup2.gif
