Does anyone know of a way to use iPod with Vista, not using iTunes? I read that iTunes is still not working properly with Vista, so l haven't downloaded it.
When l plug in my iPod, l can't find an application that will read the songs. I'm using a Sony Vaio with Vista preinstalled.
One other thing, is Quicktime a problem with Vista? I can't find a 'Vista-compatible' download.

There was an update released to iTunes recently that fixed most of the Vista incompatible problems. I'm using the latest version of QuickTime, which isn't officially compatible, but works most of the time.

Yes, there is a program you can buy for $14. Its called Mgtek DoISP.

that should fix your issue. It makes the Ipod work with Windows Media Player.

Their are lots of other programs as well that can deal with an iPod. I use MediaMonkey, mostly due to it's flexibility in where you can put your music files (you don't even have to have a formal 'library'), and it's ability to transcode your files on the fly, so I can have them in high quality on my PC (high bit rate or even FLAC), but it can still copy them as 128kbs mp3's to the iPod (or whatever level of compression you wish).
