I want to make forums on my website. How do you do that?
groovicus
Do you mean you want to program your own forum software, or you want to use some sort of ready made forum software?

you could integrate something like phpBB into your site, or you could use something like phpNuke which has integrated forums, to design your entire site. I have use phpNuke for my site, but do not use the forums. A site I maintain does have the forums enabled, but no posts last I checked. www.stuntdummies.com

That would be a good long term goal. Using ready made forum software sounds like the way to go. I'm not so sure that I want to use anything that supports pictures though because I'm trying to conserve on room I use on my server. I might try using phpBB or Nuke, but how does the data go on the server on a separate page or added to the file they posted in. What about a log in log out system for my site? I have no clue how that works. smile.gif thanks for helping with my other topic too Groovicus.

You would need a webhosting account that provides a MySQL database in order to store the forum messages and settings.

don't worry I do.

Then just download and install Simple Machines Forum or PHPBB and you should be good to once you install it.
