Hi EVERYBODY!
cowsgonemadd3
Howdy hey welcome to BC!

I did have a super nintendo and a N64 system. Im sick of nintendo though. They have some bad games. I have yet to try a Xbox so they might have improved.

I use now a Pc. Computer gaming is the best out there in my opinion.

Hi EVERYBODY!

Hello and welcome to the forum. It is always good to answer your own poll question to get the ball rolling.

I used to own an atari, and caleco vision. Do those count? thumbup.gif

Xbox seems to be the most popular lately, you can connect and play with others.

To be precise, a PC is not a game console. I have a PC (obviously) and a PS2 which is now gathering dust but purchased mostly to play all the FF games.
Welcome to BC and your poll is an interesting one.

We have PS2, the PC, Super Mario and Nintendo 64. I used to love the 64.. My favorite was Mario and Rogue Squadron. But after a while I had to quit the games, they began to make me nauseous. LOL I can't play those games with the good graphics anymore. I have never even played the PS2.
LoLucky
Before my house fire some years back i had an NES, SNES, PS1, PSOne, PS2, Atari, Gensis, PC, (that was able to play the 5.25 disk of Oregon Trail =( I miss Oregon Trail) Game Boy, and one by Sega but i never rember name think it was Game Gear

Now i have PC(for Everquest/Star Craft) and PS2 PS2(mini)

what if you own ps2 AND a PC?
raw
I have PS2 but i also run NES and PS1 emulators on my PC
babygirl
damn everyone has ps2s lol i want one!

we have got 2 xboxes, a gamecube, n64 and a playstation. i play on this pc the most though - sims 2 hehe tongue.gif
Izzy
i got the original nintendo with 3 games and it still works.
i also have a super nintendo with 4 games still working.
i also have a nintendo 64 with 2 games. still works.
and i have a playstation 2 (this is the secind one as my first one was the fat one but something went wrong with it and had it replaced by some little skinny version which is a peace of trace. it has no fan in it and it over heats which makes the games freeze. i rather the first playstaion 2.

i also have a PC (Not that it a game consol but plays games. rather playstatiion because at least you know the game will work on it. not like PC which cannot play all because of different hardware.

My number 1 choice is the bigger PS2 (Not he Skinny Slim version which i have now)

anyone else have over heting trouble with the skinny slim thing PS2?
jgweed
At least with the PS2 I can stretch out on the sofa and play games. I remember cleaning all those NES cartridge contacts over and over again, just to get the game to work.
Cheers,
John

Glad to see somewone worse than me having all the game machines. (Well Used to) The only that i pad for was PS2 & NES. The others i got for B/Day & Chri/Mas.
The Trip
I have Dreamcast (and I have over 100 games) thumbup.gif

I have a PS1

Super Nintendo (Every game released in the US--all 700 and something, but most of them are for an emulator for my DC called Dreamsnes, but yes I do physically own a SNES)

and a PC (shouldnt that be implied. why have it on the poll?)
Izzy
I know a PC isn't a Game Console, but i think it's there because people by a PC for games. Or play them because they have a PC. there are some (not many) good games for PC.

The Sims is Good, but gets boaring after a hour.
The Trip
??? There are tons of good games for PC, all FPS's are much better on a PC, than a console, PC really is the only thing you can have strategy games on, same with simulation. I would rather have a PC over anything.

I got a PS2... i use it as an extra DVD player. Since Blockbuster has no late fees now, I played one game... they still suck as far as rentals go tho... no new ones. I also have a Gamecube... only for Metroid Prime 1 & 2. I don't remember where i put my Gameboy Advanced.... My PC is my main Game Machine. And i only play City of Heroes and Half Life 2. thumbup.gif
Izzy
Blockbuster have no weekly rentals with games.

Well i mean they class all games as new releases even the PSOne games.
Everyone is a new release. i asked one of the workers there and she said because of the price $4.95 a new release. well they could have made it $4.45 if they are that worried.

Because they have a deal where you can get 2 new releases and 2 weekly.
if you get 2 new release movies you can't get 2 weekly games you have to do it the other way around 2 new release games and 2 weekly movies. a movie u watch once. a game well takes more than overnight to get used to it and to enjoy it.

BLOCKBUSTER - YOU SUCK

I'll GO TO VIDEO EZY instead. they have weekly games.

ps2, gamecube (well, that last one isnt mine exactly but im allowed to play on it!)

hey guys,

i have a NES 20 carts, SNES 10 carts, PSX about 30 games, PS2 about 20 games
and our PCs (4 machines) and about 200+ games spanning from about the first
games (Zork! and it all fits on a 5 1/4" double density floppy!!!) to (some) of
the more recent games, (Need for Speed Underground, morrowind et. al...)

the express reason why i have a PC at all is so that i can play games on it.
if i could not i could find little reason why to keep it.

i like driving games on consoles... but the FF series on PS (X and 2) is
the real reason why i went with sony's box.

now playing Xenosaga on PS2... and really liking it so far! ;)

you really have a lot. probally a little too many. where would you find time to play em all.
The Trip
Well Considering Most of his games are old, he doesnt play them all. I play games Like I read books, I play 1-3 at a time, when I beat em, buy another one, just like when I finish a book, I buy another one.....I like to be kept entertained thumbup.gif
I have beaten an upwards of 200 SNES Games alone, (look at my previous post in this forum, I got a SNES Emulator on my DreamCast, with all the SNES games released in the US, 750+ I used to know the exact ammount, Worst Part is, which really isnt that bad,...the one game I enjoy most--Tetris Attack--Doesnt work on DreamSNES sad.gif )

Once Sega stopped DC, I got into Dreamcast Hacking. Its fun.

Somethimes, though, it is nice to revisit an old game. I played Dragon Warrior a long time ago, and a few weeks ago, started playing it again, and smiled happily when I heard the introduction music. It brought back some fond memories of weekends wandering around with Ragnor.
Cheers,
John

Thats why I sooo badly want Tetris, Attack to bring back memories. It was the only video game my whole family enjoyed....Including my parrents w00t.gif ...They never play video games, we used to sit around as a family when I was younger...like 4-9 range...(16 now), and I miss that lots, because it was my uncles game, but we always borrowed it, but then he sold his SNES, and all the games.
Same with alot of SNES games, bringing back memories....mostly of furstration and banging the controller on the ground, but there still good memories.
jgweed
I won't mention the long weekends a friend and I played Doom on hooked up Playstations for two days straight. Sometimes I load it up and see how far I can go from memory.

tongue.gif DOOM 2, I recenly got in trouble for playing that at school, my friends friend got it on a comp at school, then gave it to my friend, who gave it to me, then we spread it all over the network to TONS of people (more than I thought). We played in LAN, it was great Fun, there were always people playing eachother some where in my school, but finally the administrators found out, after Christmas vacation....But I devised a way of playing it so we cant get caught....and we also have quake 3 on there now. I put the games on their servers....right under thier nose (ratherr than each of our accounts), and play it logged on as student...which is the generic account for everyone, that doesnt have a computer class lmfao.gif . I'm lovin it, everytime I got a sub in my computer class's, we play it (though with a much smaller group of people....dont want to get caught again we be in BIG trouble), and in one class the teacher doesnt even care....he himself goes and plays it crazy.gif ...Hes gonna get himself fired hysterical.gif .

that's exactly it, Trip. most of them i have only the media it came
on, like the 5 1/4" or 3 1/2" or the cdrom... with the exception of
LHX (attack helicopter simulator) i still have the box it came in
and all the materials in it. it was the first "commercial" game that
i ever bought for (a computer that is...)

but yes... most of the games i have i have beaten and dont
want to play again. with the exception of the following two titles:

system shock 2
and
deus ex

just something about them that keeps me coming back to them...
i would probably have a current game on one of them now... if i had
a windows 98 machine to play them on that is...

Cows, how could you say that? crazy.gif
I know I'm a bit older than you but c'mon, how can you be sick of Nintendo games?
Unless you played them to death, smile.gif .
Gone are the days where we got a Nintendo system 'for our kids' just so we could play it late at night after they went to bed. Gone are the days when we stood in long lines at the stores for Super Mario 2. Gone are the days when The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game was 'THE thing to have'.
I know there are a lot of fancier games out there. We have PS2 as well. But, there will always be a little place in my heart for Mario, Super Mario, Tetris, Donkey Kong, Duck Hunt, PacMan, Ms PacMan, Gallaga, Centipede, and many others. tongue.gif
Luckily, we still have access to these oldtime favorites. Yes, I've got them, lol.
P.S. If you must know, I do so love Vice City - hope that is what it's called. I have enjoyed a few of the newer ones (less than 4 yrs old, lol) but...I'm a Mario kinda gal, lol. And OMG, Bandicoot - LOVE IT!

Thanks for the thread/poll.

Hey, lots of times you can force old games and such to install on a newer Windows Version, I had to do it with Fallout and Fallout 2.
One thing you could try is to open up the CD, if it has autoplay, just right click and press open, then try opening every executable. If that doesnt work...
Try this, its called unstopable copier. Make a folder on your HDD, and open up the copier, and copy your CD drive to the Folder you just made. Then right click on the Setup executable, and press the compatiblity tab, and make it say run in compatiblity mode
