I am using xp-pro sp2. The computer will shut off by itself and I never know when this will happen. I am not sure if shutting off is the right term because the green light is still illuminated (one with the lightbulb symbol beside it). i.e. there is still power to the system but the screen goes into power save mode. I am using an hp d530 microtower p4 2.4ghz. I thought it might be the cpu overheating. There was a lot of dust accumulated on the heat sink so I removed that. The cooling fan is operational. However problem is still present. I am new to this site so sorry if I have posted in the wrong area or have made some other mistake. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I went into the Event properties and here are the following event IDs: 101, wuauclt (1932) The database engine stopped..........103 wuaueng.dll (1932) SUS20ClientDataStore:The database engine stopped the intance (0)............

For those events, go to http://www.eventid.net. Type the Event ID and SOURCE, and it will show you solutions for said problems. "Wuauclt" is the windows auto updates program. Not sure bout SUS20.
