Full Version: No Shutdown Menu From Drop Down List

usually when i shutdown there is a box which has drop down list where you can choose shutdown ,restart and log off.but now, i couldnt shutdown win2000 pc (on a network),for there is only one option 'log off".
any ideas?thanks.

If you click on Start, then Shut Down you should get a box that asks What do you want the computer to do? In the box below that there should be an arrow to the right of that, if you click on it you should have a list of options which will include Log off, Shut Down, Restart, and Standby. Click on the one you want to appear in that rectangular box to the left of the arrow.

I don't know why, but I always use the TaskManager option. Rightclick on a blank part of the Taskbar, select TaskManager, and you have Shutdown options at the top of that.
Of course the TaskManager can also be brought up with the three-finger shuffle, Ctrl+Alt+Del.
That is the interesting thing about Windows, there are multiple ways of doing just about anything - whichever suits you I guess.
