After I upgraded to vista, there is a boot menu now at startup that lists the xp version of windows in the menu, not a big problem just annoying, does anyone know how to delete that entry so I don't have to select vista every startup. I believe that vista no longer uses boot.ini for this.

There are quite a few ways. The easiest is to google for Easybcd and install and run it. It offers quite a few options, including the one you want. There is a built in editor for the Vista Boot manager, but it is difficult to get through.

I've used EasyBCD and like it. Another free option is Vista Boot Pro: http://www.vistabootpro.org/
