I decided to uninstall Microsoft Office 2003 so after the setup,i can still see a big difference on the total space it consumed before it was installed(25.7GB) when installed occupied (25GB) and after was (25.2GB) so im suspecting that the remaining 0.5GB is still somewhere not yet freed in my hard disk, making sure that the .5GB was freed,i'd look around at the program files can anyone help? t.y.
(I did a Complete install of it instead of the typical install)which was a big mistake..

To give a good idea what is going on your hard disk please download and install Treesize professional a handy and sall utility which tells you instantly what is on your HDD.

You might want to go thru your program Files directory to see whether you see some other Office related programs. the full install installs everything including all sorts of clip arts which might be left behind.

Thanks for the tip! Im suspecting that Outlook Express in program files is one of those in Microsoft Office 2003 should i delete it?
fozzie
If you have uninstalled M$ Offie Outlook should not be there anymore. If it is there and you don't want it anymore uninstall it via Add/Remove Programs.

Outlook Express is not part of Office, It's part of IE. smile.gif

Ok thanks hitsquad
Are these files part of Microsoft Office 2003?
C:\Program Files\Common Files\SpeechEngines\Microsoft
And im sure there is a tool to remove the program completely...

Used by Office but I would leave it. It should only be around 3.6mb anyway.
Start here and see what you come up with. There are going to be a few files, like dll's, that will be left behind. Nothing you can or should do about it as they are shared.

Not since Office 2000, as shown in the link above.
There is the office 2003 resource kit but you need to know exactly what your doing and office needs to be installed.

I already whent to that site

I surfed the internet and found something valuable: http://www.tabletquestions.com/microsoft-o...ice-2003-a.html Im currently checking regedit and found Microsoft hkey which is hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\office\11.0 but its a folder so where's the registry? is it the big open white space next to it? which probably i should delete...
Commander Gman
urgh..i think i should rather bare the undeletable 0.5GB in my hard disk...its too hard to free it,no matter how many attempts i made..the full install was around 1,200 mb which was awfully gigantic so what if i reinstalled it but in Typical install, would it be around 300mb instead? and make my pc a little slower? 24GB left...but if you guys have any good ideas on how to free that,i'd be more than welcomed for your help! smile.gif

You will free zero space via the reg. If you want to remove the reg entries and installer information files leftover from the office install, you can use the installer cleanup utility for that. smile.gif
As far as a minimal install goes, choose "custom" from the setup menu. Pick what you want.
Office isn't exactly a "light" application, if ya know what I mean. smile.gif

Ok,as far as it goes my pc is getting slow especially during the start up but although its slow on that part, all of the programs during start up launch about 1 minute instead
Commander Gman
*phew* my laptop was running smoothly again since i cleared the registry..but im also expecting that the startup wouldnt take any longer no more...i hope they release the utility for completely removing Microsoft Office 2003. smile.gif

Finally at last! smile.gif I reinstalled Microsoft Office with no problem! 342+MB was occupied,
t.y. everyone for your help&support
