I have a problem. I can't seem to access BIOS in Gateway 3018GZ. The function key is f12 but when pressed it says 'operating system not found'.....then I just hit enter and it boots up to the login screen.
The reason why I want to access the BIOS setting is because I want to confirm if it has 'heat sensors' because my gateway's fan is running constantly once I turn on my laptop, it never stops-and my guess is it's overheating. I just want to make sure if it is working properly-I mean not that I know how to diagnose the problem correctly, but maybe it might give me some clues.
I don't know if the problem came up when I first bought it because I didn't pay attention to it. The problem just occured to me last night and I noticed that it shouldn't do that, right?
I've had it for about 3 years and everything seems ok, but the fan is really annoying and blowing out heat(kinda noisy) and at the same time the cpu is at 2-5% which is a good thing?...
I've read somewhere online that said getting a 'coolpad' may help. I haven't gotten one yet, but I will soon if the BIOS doesn't work out. I have googled about the BIOS in Gateway 3018GZ, but I couldn't find anything. If anyone has any pointers, please post asap.
