First ...sorry if ive posted this in the wrong place...?

HI I an running Windows Xp pro Media Edition, and connecting to the internet by Dial up,( average connection speed … 38.2 Kbps )
The problem here (central Thailand) is that the telephone land lines are subject to what I can
Only describe as ‘’noise’’ I have a house phone connected at the same time I try and connect to the internet, and I can listen on the speaker phone facility, once the internet connection has been made,

And some times just before the connection drops off, I can hear a ‘noise’ on the land line,
I’ve checked all the phone wall sockets, and the out side phone line connection and all seem OK,
I was just wondering (being a newbie) if there’s any thing I can do with my modem configuration
Or set up that would help in some way; any advice would be most welcome, asking the phone
Company to check the land line; I can assure you would have no affect here!!

Thanks

What does the 'noise' sound like? Can you describe? This will help us determine what is causing the noise.

I'm just a little bit confused since personally I use dial up and cannot use the phone when I do so because the internet is using the phone line?
