I have been using AVG Free on my desktop computer for months. Initially, and for some time since, the program scanned automatically each time I booted up. I put the same program on my laptop and it has never scanned automatically and I do it manually as I do with the desktop now.

I have scoured the help files looking for a way to schedule an automatic scan. It looks like I should be able to set a time and also elect to scan on bootup by checking the "If missed" box. Problem is I cannot find where to schedule and check the 'if missed' box.

Hep files seem to say I can do these things with the free version. Am I mistaken and, if so, how did I have auto scan and scan on boot up at one time before??

Thanks for the help.

Question: Are you talking about the AVG Antivirus free program or the AVG AntiSpyware free program? Also, which version?

I just uninstalled and reinstalled and it appears the problem is solved. Sorry for the hasty post,

I'm glad you have the problem worked out. Thanks for posting back. smile.gif Sometimes uninstalling and reinstalling is the best way to go. I was just getting ready to look for information about AVG AntiVirus free in terms of your question as I don't have the program myself, when you posted back.
