I actually use the "Cleaner" utility to purge history in IE but has anyone else had this experience? When manually clearing IE data, It can take up to 15 seconds for the clear history button to come back from grayout. Curious as to why this happens (even when there is no data to delete) and how can it be fixed. My concern is that there is if there is some corrupt file in IE that makes the system hang, then gives up that may be bogging my system resources. I've tried reinstalling many times, deleting all *.dat(s) in all the IE folders.

Ccleaner is a good tool for cleaning up your computer. Stay away from the issues button if you have no experiance with registry cleaning. To be absolutely sure klick options than advanced and tick "prompt for backups "than run the cleaner. Also make sure you update it before running it.

Hey I tried CCleaner. Great program but did not eliminate the big bog wait problem when I click clear history. CCleaner does look like a good maintainence program provided like you guys said that you know your limits when modifying the system registry. I always back it all up before I make an changes.
