Opera Browser Added to Some Windows 6.0 Phones.

Some of the first Windows Mobile 6.0 phones to hit the market will include Opera Software ASA's mobile browser, in addition to Microsoft Corp.'s browser.

Microsoft launched Windows Mobile 6.0, the latest version of its mobile phone operating system, this week. Internet Explorer Mobile, Microsoft's browser, comes with the software. A number of handset makers announced this week plans to release phones running the Microsoft operating system.

How much did opera pay to get this?

I guess I get lucky sometimes, or at least have a good group of contacts that help me understand what's popular among developers. I've been developing a cross-browser application and testing on IE, Firefox, Opera, and Nokia's version of Mozilla (in an E70 cell phone). Looks like I'm covered.

I sure hope by now the people who have received the free version of Opera Mobile are using the latest 9.5 version. It's amazing on my Windows Mobile based phone.
