I have had SpyGuard for nearly a year, and every time I check SpyGuard Live Update, it says it is up to date. There have never been any changes or updates. Does this mean it's not much good or terribly efficient?

Thanks,
Karen

If this is the SpyGuard program - I'd suggest getting another one. The reviews that I've read haven't been very good.

If this is the SpyWareGuard program - that's another issue. Please let us know which it is and we can work from there.

If you're using SpywareGuard, here's an explanation as to why, it doesn't need to update often:

Hi Stereo_Type,

The reason for less frequent updates with SpywareGuard is that it doesn't need to update as frequently. Much of its detection abilities are heuristics in nature. They work for many of the newer versions of spyware installers even without adding "signatures" for them. An update is made when there are new items coming out that are not detected that way.

SpywareBlaster's protections are all specific - target for target with no heuristics. It must be updated to stay on top of any new spyware items.
