Hi I just got a used toshiba satellite a65. It was free, I have to get a new hard drive because the old one was removed. It was a Hitachi Travelstar 40gb 4200rpm ata/ide.

I was looking for a 60 or 80 gb and want one that is going to last. I didnt know if refurbs were bad? and what company should I gop with? Thanks

Any one of the ATA hdds on this page are good, and should last for years. Just be sure to go with the ATA models, not the SATA.

These are also excellent:

I prefer seagate : the only reason is the longer warranty that the Non OEM drives have.
