For some reason when I put empty DVD discs into my DVD writer, it doesnt recognize it

Usually when I put an empty disc it asks me what i want to do with it

but in thise case nothing pops up

I tried DVD-R's and + R's and it still doesnt work

On my writer it says RW DVD+R DL

Please give the model (manufacturer) of drive. The drive you have should only support burning o DVD+R discs. I have trouble sometimes with my TDK DVD+R drive recognizing discs. It is usually taken care of by ejecting and re-inserting disc.
