Oh I have to ask. What are the specs on your computer?
It will depend on what version of NT you have. I believe NT3.1 will run with 16MB of Ram but NT3.51 and NT4 will need at least 32MB of RAM. It has been so long.

Nice. I still have an old 386sx20 and 486dx33, althought I have not fired them up in years. I am amost certain you will need 32mb minimum to run NT4.
Is this one of those projects that you want to keep the machine "as is", and try to run it or you just have not upgraded?

I was referring to upgrading the amount of RAMin your computer. The RAM in that computer should be 30pin or 72pin, and 4 to 8 slots. Most used computer stores sell 4mb sticks for $1 to $5 per stick.
Do you know what type of RAM is in? Is it EDO,..?

No problem. It just takes time.
You could have different types of RAM. the old 30pin and 72pin RAM came in standard and EDO. If you mix them up the computer will not work.
The difference between EDO and standard RAM is small and is hard to tell by looking at them.
This may not be the problem but it is worth looking into if you want to keep using the computer.
Thanks for replying no matter how late.

That is part of your problem. EDO and non-EDO memory are not compatible. Could you post the make and model of your motherboard.

We are here for you. Do not worry about taking your time, UNLESS! You are posting a HJT log.

Have you tried looking in the BIOS? Usually pressing Del or F2 at boot will bring you to the BIOS Setup.
It may also be written on the motherboard itself.
