Bah....How can anyone think uncooked fish is good is a mystery to me. Like a fisherman catching the fish and biting into right then and there...yuck!

Anyways it looks pretty cool. I like shrimp and so thats all I would eat on the plate.

No I havent tried it. I was told it was raw fish and that was a stomach churner for me.

I do not eat fish, but love sushi. I usually eat the California roll (Crab, Avocado, Mayo, & Cucumbers) or Shrimp Tempura Roll with avocado & cream cheese!

So anyway, I did have sushi for dinner, Shrimp Tempura w/ Avocado (the place I went to didn't have cream cheese ) and soba salad. If you like Japanese food and haven't tried soba, you have to, it's awesome!

sushi isnt really raw fish, its mostly just rice and vegetables wrapped in seaweed. there are lots of sushis that do have raw fish, but mostly the fish is added as a topping. sushi is lovely though, especially with some soy sauce. yummmm.

You can make sushi with anything! Fish is just pretty popular, my parents like the sushi with fish eggs and they got my 3-yr old niece eating it too. Yuck!
cowsgonemadd3, you should try making your own at home. All you need is Japanese rice (not the Uncle Ben stuff ), nori (seeweed wrap), sugar & rice vinegar (to make the rice sweet), and whatever veggies/meats you like to eat. I like hot dog sushi.

Hehehe..your right! I felt the same exact way as you until I started eating it. You need to start with easy sushi that contains cooked fish so you get used to it. Something like california rolls or even an eel roll (very sweet). Then try something raw like a tuna roll. You move on from there.

Trust me if you live fish, it is delicious.

Good point...if you are looking for pieces of raw fish then sashimi would really be the proper term.

If you go to better sushi restaurants you wont get this. I know people who eat sushi all the time for years and never had problems. All foods contain risks of some sort if they not prepared properly.

You are right in what you say.When I go to my wife's parent's home in Austria,her father deliberately sits in front of me and eats Rollmops ( Pickled raw fish) straight out of the bottle, until I have to go out of the room.

I don't know the correct preparation procedure nor can I witness the preparation from go to wo, so I think I'll give it a miss. You all enjoy

I suggest that you get a French press coffee maker; it makes the best coffee and easier. I like beans, which I grind with a manual grinder (it has been in the family for four generations), because you get a fresher taste. The French press does not burn the coffee. Never reheat coffee; get a good thermos. Ask a construction worker which ones are best. I use an Aladdin Stanley.

I will eat veggie sushi. I don't eat raw meat, fowl, or fish.
