Has anyone purchased a laptop (2.5) hard drive from western digital? Need to know if they normally don't ship them with the jumper needed to set it as slave or cable select. I just purchased one and had to return it because it didn't have a jumper with it (it would be used as a second drive in my laptop) and noone sells them seperately. The technician at the store told me that notebook drives don't come shipped with the jumper. I know seagate drives do because I purchased one recently and it came with the jumper.

I'll try and remember to check tomorrow at work. Give this topic a bump in the meantime so I can see it, OK?

Yes, it should have come with a jumper. I've seen stranger things, one person ordered a Asus socket 939 which came without the bracket to mount the HSF.

I finally found one to check at work - yep, they come with them. They're real little and are at the far left side of the drive (when facing the pins with the label up). Maybe check a local shop for dead hard drives and see if you can get one out of there?
