My Laptop died again sad.gif Last time i had to delete all, fortunatly this time i have been ale to install OS in a second folder and run from there phew.

However I am struggling to reinstall norton AV2007 and McAfee firewall plus (AOL freebie wall) has blocked 'COM Surrogate 5.1' as it says it is a 'Malicious trojan' on searching the net however, it appears that it isnt at all! it's connected to microsoft.

Should I allow access to COM Surrogate 5.1?

COM surrogate can be good or bad - it depends on what it's "surrogating" and how it does it. If the surrogate doesn't have the same security level as the original COM - then you've got problems.

Try some other antivirus, antispyware, and firewall apps. Don't run more than one at the same time - this will cause problems on your system.

Here's the free one's that I use and recommend:
