A while ago my Linksys Wireless Router was having Ip address issues. It kept giving two computers the same Ip address so on one of them the internet wouldn't work. I tried many things and sometimes it would be two different computers having the problem (we have three computers). I eventually found a way to manually set the Ip address signed to each computer, and then the internet worked on all of them, but now I have another problem.I just realized that now I can't connect to the internet directly through my modem.

What I'm asking is how do I change the setting (useing windows xp SP2) to automatically obtain an IP address. Ya I feel like an idiot I forgot how I did it before wacko.gif . Thanks for reading this post!

*Go to Control Panel. - If you are using Windows XP's Category View, select the Network and Internet Connections category. If you are in Classic View, go to the next step .
*Double-click the Network Connections icon
*Right-click the Local Area Connection icon and select Properties.
*Hilight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the Properties button.
*Select "Obtain an IP address automatically"
*Select "Obtain DNS server address automatically".
*OK your way out.
