In a career that spanned more than six decades, Iwao Takamoto assisted in the designs of some of the biggest animated features and television shows, including "Cinderella," "Peter Pan," "Lady and the Tramp" and "The Flintstones."

But it was Takamoto's creation of Scooby-Doo, the cowardly dog with an adventurous heart, that captivated audiences and endured for generations.

This man has died but his magical creations will surely live on for so many.

Odd how one rarely gives any thought to who is behind the things that can make us feel childlike again and smile - but I own all the magical Cd's and enjoy them as much or more than the children do - gentle smile.

Scooby doo is my all time favorite cartoon and always will be. The new cartoons for kids on tv today are just pathetically stupid.

So sad the man who came up with the cartoon died.

Most of the cartoons made targeted at kids, are not really for kids it seems. I'm a fan of stupid-funny, so I like some of the newer cartoons, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend parents to allow their children to watch them.

Nothing beats the Flinstones for me! smile.gif
