my drive has been missing for a few months already.. when i go to my computer it shows C: for my main drive and for my cd-rom is F:

Assuming you have XP....
Click Start, Run...,
Type in diskmgmt.msc, Click OK
Do you see your drives in Disk Management?
Does it list the drives as Healthy?
What do you see?
Are you using one physical hard disk, or more?
Are these separate logical partitions?
Also, please reply back with your operating system.
