Howdy all,

Just built my new system:

Intel E6600 Core 2 Duo
ASUS nForce 590 p5n32-SLI Premium
Corsair XMS2 DDR800 PC-6400 4-4-4-12
Leadtek 8800GTX
Tagan 700W EasyCon XL

The problem is that I get no signal to the monitor. I can put in my X800GTO and everything works fine (even with the ATI drivers unloaded). I have done a full update of windows, I am on nforce motherboard drivers v. 9.53 from nvidia.com, and have flashed the BIOS (successfully) with the latest BIOS (0603) from ASUS.com.
I have more than enough power (700W @ 80% efficiency / 4 12V rails ea. with 20Amps (80A total)) and am running only a few deivices - MoBo / CPU / Keyboard / Mouse / SB Audigy 2 ZS / 3-4 fans / Samsung 7200rpmm SATAII HDD / and of course the 8800GTX (which isn't working).

Here's the drama - I can plug in the 8800GTX and connect both PCIx power cords, and power up - I get one POST beep (all good) and from the HDD activity light, it is clearly going to the Windows XP Home logon screen - however, there is no video output, nor is there any error beeps to report.

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

Justin

Since it's new I'd suspect a faulty vid card - and since it's new, now's the time to RMA it (before the warranty runs out).

Yeah, that is what I suspect. I have been on the nVidia Forum, and they appear to have a large amount of the 880GTX's that have failed (and that is excluding the batch that have the incorrect chip thingy on them).
Unfortunately, the company that I bought the card through (EYO.com.au) have closed until the 8th of Jan next year, so looks like I'll have to stick with the X800 until then......D'OH!
