Have you ever installed it when you had your disc ...and tested that the camera was working?
If yes, you may be just missing a file or it could be corrupted, which calls for the drivers.
If no, do it the way the instructions say to install it. This is very important, because, if you do one step before the other, you may still have the problem.

That sometimes depend on what you're installing.. eg: hardware or software.
If you don't have the manual, or can't find it online (you probably will)... you can try this:
1. Know the folder where you saved the drivers, then power down.
2. Plug the cable in the port, with the camera attached and powered
ON. (I'm guessing Windows
will find it)
3. Power up, and see what happens.... If Windows doesn't recognize it being attached, do this:

Add Hardware. Click
Next....... then select
Yes, I already have the hardware connected...... then click
Next... on the next window look for your device... if you don't find it, select the last option at the bottom of the list....
Add a new hardware device... then click next. Then on the next screen, select
Install the hardware that I manually select from the list (Advanced)... and click
Next.... The next screen you should be selecting
Imaging Devices as your hardware.. then click
Next. On the next screen, it'll list different manufacturers. Select yours, if it's listed and see if your model is listed. If your manufacturer isn't on the list, then you will need to click on the
Have Disk button and navigate to your driver, the one you downloaded, and when you select it, it should bring you a list of model no#'s. Select yours... and then install.
