Hi there,

I've downloaded Acrobat pro, but I want to uninstall it, well I succesfully uninstalled it but some files are left behind.

The following files were unable to be removed (they are located in this folder ..\Acrobat Pro\Resource\CMap


- Identity-H
- Identity-V
- UCS2-GBK-EUC
- UniKS-UTF16-H
- UniKS-UTF16-V

This is the error message when I try to delete it

Cannot delete (filename): Acces is denied

Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected
and that the file is not currently in use

I even booted in safe mode, but no succes.

I have seriously no idea how this is possible.

Help would be appreciated.

Have you tried renaming the file, then deleting it?
Name it anything you want, like trash, old, useless, ........ whatever.

Have you checked the folder's Properties?
Right click the folder, and select Properties.
Make sure it's not set to Read-only.
If it is, uncheck it, click Apply, and click OK.
Now try to delete it.

If none of the above works, here are a couple of programs, you can try:
Eraser
Unlocker
Delete Doctor

I have to say, Adobe have annoyed me. PDF is as far as I'm concerned an industry standard when it comes to having portable documets. I stopped using Adobe Acrobat after version 5, it became too bloated with rubbish, slowed my PC down, became hard to remove and generally a pain in the a'se.

I now use free Adobe readers and PDF creators for my need - less to install, less intrusive and cheaper!

I've read the Microsoft site, but when I rightclick on a folder go to properties I can't see a Tab called Security, anyone knows how?

and those files are still on my computer so..

Kinda frustrating

did U figured out how to delete those files from Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.
I'm in the same trouble.

Also the security Tab will only be there if the disk is formatted with NTFS. This is not availiable for FAT file systems.

You will probably not be able to delete these files as they may still be in use by a domant part of adobe. Have a look in task manager and see if there are any programs that relate to adobe. Close them off and try and delete them again.
