I have an occasional, weird problem. On some web pages, only 3 or 4 that I can remember, IE seems to hang and then will eventually close itself. It's not been a major issue, more a nuisance than anything else. It's happened on 2 or 3 web sites before, and again today. I don't remember the other addresses (one was a shopping cart and a log in page of the same site, another was a home page), but the one today was:
http://www.iomega.com/na/landing.jsp
I don't remember if the other pages were JSP's or not.
When I hit one of these pages, the status bar says "Opening ..." and the green status bar will be at various stages of full. Last time I tried the above iomega page, it got to full. The page then goes unresponsive (can't minimize, etc.) and the Task Manager eventually says "Not responding." Then, after not a too-long period of time, the browser window closes. Sometimes, all browser windows will close, but not always. Nothing else seems to be affected. I can immediately re-open IE, although it seems a little sluggish at first. But maybe that's just IE (I use Firefox at home).
This is a Compaq Presario R3000 laptop, running WinXP Pro SP2, IE 6.0 SP2. I think I have all the Windows patches, but I'll check and make sure.
I realize this isn't a lot of information to go on, but can anyone help? Also, if this should be on the WinXP forum, I apologize. Feel free to move it where it should be.
Thanks,
Tim
